As anyone who's read this site for any length of time knows, my love for Jonatha Brooke knows no bounds. I got into her back in 1994, when someone gave me a free copy of the Plumb CD -- which she did with her band, The Story -- and I've been a rabid fan ever since.
So imagine my excitement to find out that she'd be the one providing the theme song for the new Joss Whedon series Dollhouse, which premieres this Friday night on Fox. Turns out Jonatha was hand-picked by Joss to write and perform the song; it happened when he was asked by the studio who he wanted to do it and he answered that his dream would be to have Jonatha Brooke doing a cross between the song you're about to hear and Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Here's Careful What You Wish For.
And as a bonus, because I can't get enough of these pristine amateur recordings of Jonatha's live shows, here's West Point.
(Seriously, I kid you not -- go buy everything this woman's ever done. You won't be disappointed.)
