Quote of the Day

"Think of it as like Mayberry. That’s when I grew up -- the '60s. That's what life was like. I want Florida to be known for making those kinds of movies: Disney movies for kids and all that stuff. Like it used to be, you know?'

-- Florida State Representative Stephen Precourt on a new incentive program that would provide money and tax credit to entice "family friendly" films to shoot in Florida and would deny those funds to movies featuring "nontraditional family values"

Right. Because when I think Mayberry, I think the land of assholes, alligators and Amber Alerts.

And what is it with the right's seemingly never-ending quest to return to an idyllic time that existed only in their own imagination, anyway?
