Listening to the insane ramblings of Orly Taitz is seriously the most hallucinatory fun you can have without actually dropping acid.
Late last week, the Department of Justice urged a federal judge in California to scrap a lawsuit filed by Taitz -- a wild-eyed Moldovan-born dentist and attorney who's known as the "birther queen" and who HuffPo's Jason Linkins famously said looks like "an angry Fraggle" -- and several other birthers seeking to challenge Barack Obama's presidency on the grounds that he supposedly isn't a U.S. citizen. As is SOP by this time, Taitz submitted what she calls a freshly uncovered Kenyan Obama birth certificate (a shockingly amateurish forgery, not sure how many this makes now) which she filed in court under the amusing heading: "Kenian Hospital Birth Certificate for Barack Obama."
Spelling errors aside, both the judge in the case and the DOJ humored Taitz, which is to say they didn't laugh her out of court. Still, Justice has apparently decided that it's through entertaining the yapping chihuahua trying to mount its leg and is now ready to kick the little fucker across the room. Federal attorneys claim the suit has no merit and can't be decided in a California courtroom anyway. Unfortunately, they don't specifically rebut Taitz's accusations. Anyone with a brain larger than a lemur's will understand that this is because to argue with this crap would be to validate it. But, of course, the birthers will call this "evasion" and shout from the rooftops about how it proves that they're onto something and the big conspiracy is shutting them down before the truth can come out.
Don't believe me? Wanna be terrified just how pervasive this kind of psychosis is? Just how far off the rails some of this country's supposed mainstream has gone?
