Black and White and Read All Over

One of the coolest things about putting together this site, as well as writing for the Huffington Post, is that occasionally someone in media, politics or entertainment whom I profess an admiration or appreciation for will contact me to say thanks.

This kind of thing always floors me.

What floors me even more, though, is when someone I admit to being a fan of contacts me to say that he or she has been a reader of this site for a long time and wants to send the love right back my way.

That's what happened yesterday, when Bob Schooley, executive producer of The Penguins of Madagascar, saw me mention the show and dropped me an e-mail to let me know that, apparently, a large portion of his writing staff are regular readers and fans of Deus Ex Malcontent. I can't even begin to tell you how giddy that makes me, seeing as how I think Penguins is the smartest, cleverest, and certainly funniest animated show on daytime television. It's pretty damn awesome knowing that the people who create something that me and my little girl enjoy together also enjoy the infinitely more juvenile material that I spew out here.

So, for Bob and the writing staff of The Penguins of Madagascar, thanks for the laughs and for reading.

Cute and cuddly, boys.

Now, can one of you guys get me Nicole Sullivan's phone number?
