I'd like to say that a new clip of Herman Cain painfully struggling to come up with an opinion on Libya is in any way surprising, but after all we've seen from the Republicans this election season, it's not at all. In fact, it's entirely expected.
Remember, this guy -- the one who can't formulate even a single coherent foreign policy thought and who's accused of sexually harassing four women -- is the one-time frontrunner, poll-wise, for the GOP nomination. His main competition has been Rick "The Human Cernobyl" Perry, Michele Bachmann, whose latest mind-boggling assertion is that we need to be more like China, and Mitt Romney. Oh, and now Newt Gingrich, who's the latest Republican to find himself inexplicably surging in the polls (although, to be fair, apparently numbers were drawn beforehand and it's simply his turn) despite a record that includes an affinity for high-priced bling, leaving his wife when she had cancer and eventually leaving a tumultuous congressional stint in disgrace.
This would all be hilarious if it weren't so sad. And yet despite knowing just how ridiculous the clown car shenanigans have been this election season, the below video is still utterly cringe-inducing. It's like the scene in Taxi Driver where Travis is on the pay-phone apologizing to Betsy for taking her to a porn movie and the camera pans away because it's just too painful to watch.
