Mitt-out You

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Citing the desire to unite the Republican party, Mitt Romney has officially withdrawn from the 2008 presidential race. The move assures frontrunner John McCain the nomination, and could effectively end a civil war within the GOP, one which has pitted many of the far-right faithful against their more moderate counterparts.

Although widely assumed, there is apparently no truth to the rumor that Romney would've continued his run had someone not stepped in front of him and spoken the words "Klaatu Barata Nikto."

The former Massachusetts governor says that after a few days back at the lab -- during which time he'll be plugged-in and recharged -- he plans to fly to Las Vegas, where he'll take over for George Hamilton in the stage production of Love at First Bite.
