You didn't have to agree with him on everything to at least respect David Broder's intelligence and work ethic. Yes, his exhaustingly forced brand of Beltway-as-Olympus centrism earned him plenty of detractors, but there's an argument to be made that now more than ever unfaltering civility such as his, when taken away, will always be sorely missed.
