Well, we started this week with a cover and we're ending it the same way.
Sure this is a white-guy version of one of the greatest rock-soul-funk songs ever, and as such it comes off a little like the musical equivalent of Gus Van Sant's shot-for-shot remake of Psycho. But when the guitar kicks in at the beginning, you're reminded -- whether you like the way it's being done or not -- what a goddamned amazing song it is regardless. (And for the record, the guitar solo at the end comes pretty damn close to hitting the original's brilliance.)
