The Insider

As much as it pains me to ruin your weekend -- and believe me, this just might -- take a half-hour and watch the following Bill Moyers interview with Wendell Potter, former head of corporate communications for Cigna Health Care.

Potter comes clean about just a few of the Machiavellian tactics Cigna and other private insurers have used throughout the past decade to crush any kind of health care reform that might cut into their bottom line. Specifically, he talks about the Nataline Sarkisyan case in California a few years back, in which Cigna denied a transplant that would've saved a young girl, as well as his company's PR strategy to discredit Michael Moore's Sicko (both of which I've written about in a previous piece).

Bottom line: What you hear come out of this man's mouth will infuriate you -- and it should. It should because Cigna and its fellow robber barons in the private health care racket are doing it again -- standing in the way of health care reform that could provide an inexpensive, public insurance option for you and your family.

This is your life we're talking about. Don't you dare let these bastards get away with it.
