It takes a truly awe-inspiring level of arrogance to walk into an interview assured that, no matter what you say or do, the reporter conducting the one-on-one will see you exactly as you see yourself and therefore write glowing things about you.
It takes an even more awe-inspiring level of stupidity to be a journalist yourself -- someone who understands how these things usually work -- and make this assumption.
