Good news! The Nightly Middle-Finger to MTV segment has successfully completed its stint in rehab -- where, as you remember, it was being treated for "exhaustion" -- and is ready to return to work. Unfortunately, its counselors have warned it against taking on too much responsibility too quickly, and therefore it will be rejoining us on a somewhat more limited basis (as in, whenever the hell I feel like dragging it out of its AA meetings).
That said, tonight's video is the latest from The Shins -- whom we should all be willing to forgive for being Zach Braff's* favorite band. It's the best song The Smiths never wrote: Phantom Limb.
(*For the record, I have nothing personal against Zach Braff; it's tough to get worked up about a guy like that. His movies aren't anything that can't be fixed with a little nudity, some chainsaws, nudity and chainsaws, or a subplot involving killer robotic demons from the future. Plus, he did nail Mandy Moore.)
