Behind the Chenille Curtain
I love old '50s propaganda films; I used to rent collections of them by the handful back when I lived in L.A.
That's why I love everything about this little clip, put together by the good folks at 23/6.

Hot Rod
I rest my case. What more could I possibly add to this?
From the good folks at 23/6, here's the cable coverage of the Blagojevich scandal in a minute.

That's What You Get

A really funny and clever observation from the people at 23/6 regarding the election:
"American History majors rarely get the chance to experience American History in real time. Last night was like a gigantic episode of 24, but instead of Jack Bauer and a countdown clock, it had Wolf Blitzer and an electoral counter. Like Bauer, Obama solved big problems all in one day -- turning red states into blue states, bringing a huge Democratic majority to both houses, and defusing 232 years of racism. There wasn't this much history on The History Channel.
In his inspiring victory speech, Obama barely smiled. He looked like he had the next day's work on his mind, or possibly how he's going to undo the illegal and/or immoral acts Bush has planned for his remaining 77 days. Speaking of Bush, it is clear now, if it wasn't before, what his legacy is going to be: Obama. Bush will be known for ushering in the Obama era, the way Herbert Hoover was known for ushering in FDR or Pete Best was known for preceding Ringo."

Spain and Suffering

From 23/6: New York comedian Katie Halper has some ideas as to why John McCain might've snubbed Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero.
McCain doesn't want to meet with Zapatero because...
1) the Spanish Prime Minister promotes the Homosexual agenda through his "curious" lisp and his legalization of gay marriage.
2) he doesn't want to encourage more Spanish people to sneak across our borders and steal our jobs, replacing hamburgers with paella, square dancing with flamenco and baseball with bullfighting.
3) he was unclear whether the reporter was talking about THE Zapatero or a zapatero, and McCain thinks it's a little below him to commit to a meeting with his cobbler.
4) he still hasn't forgiven Spain for the inquisition, which he remembers losing friends to, and which haunts him to this day.
5) as a skin cancer survivor, McCain resents Spain's pro sun propaganda.

From the Depths of Hill

"Your Christian God has failed you, Clinton! It is time to pray to the dark lord Cthulhu and give summons to the deep ones who rest beneath the eldritch waters! Bring them forth! Your ethics mean nothing to them! They will make you Queen of the Americas after they subjugate the weak souls of humanity! Come! Put Chelsea's soul on the altar of madness! For it is the only way to please their infinite hunger!"
