Pledge Hammer: Day 4

Okay, folks, one final reminder as we get ready to wrap up our quickie Welcome Summer Pledge Drive.

Hopefully you like the daily cavalcade of nonsense you get from DXM and from my other little internet endeavors enough to throw some money at me -- if so, now's the time to do it.

There are three ways you can contribute. The first is the easiest: Just click the Paypal electronic tip link in the right-hand sidebar of this screen and donate away. You can also use the Paypal tip jar to pay-what-you-want for a digital copy of my book, Dead Star Twilight, for iPad or Kindle. Go here to begin your instant download. Remember, it's a full length book -- 300-some-odd pages -- and it can be yours for whatever you feel like putting toward it. The last way you can give is by buying a physical copy of Dead Star Twilight from Amazon. To purchase the paperback, just click here. (By the way, buying the book gives the least amount of money to the site since I only get a small cut; I want to sell books but I know there are some people out there who would want to be made aware of that.)

Another quick shout-out to all the people who've already contributed to keeping things humming around here. Your generosity is truly appreciated. To everyone else -- thanks for reading and if you can afford to do so, please toss a couple of bucks into the DXM hat.

And now, here's ten full minutes of that "circus afro" song from the new Madagascar movie. See how long you can last. I made it about 25 seconds.

Pledge Hammer: Day 3

Just a reminder that we're almost at the end of our quickie Welcome Summer Pledge Drive around here.

You know how this works by now: There are three ways you can put your hard-earned money toward DXM and all the various other horseshit I do online.

Please know that all proceeds will go toward buying me a giant stash of marijuana -- so pony up, all you nice people I've offended the shit out of over the past few days and weeks.

A special shout-out to Gordon Jennings, Riles and Brett Skean -- your generosity is truly, truly appreciated.

The drive officially ends tomorrow night.

And now, in his memory, here's ten straight hours of the Trololo guy.

Pledge Hammer: Day 2

Just a reminder that we're in the middle of our quickie Welcome Summer Pledge Drive here at DXM. If you like the stuff you find here -- the media criticism, politics, pop culture crap, juvenile attempts at comedy and musical shout-outs -- as well as the stuff on the podcast and over at the Daily Banter and Huffington, then by all means give a little of your hard-earned money to keep my internet efforts a-coming.

You know the drill: There are three ways you can throw some cash toward the DXM media empire. (By the way, buying the book gives the least amount of money to the site since I only get a small cut; I want to sell books but I know there are some people out there who would want to be made aware of that.)

A very big thank-you to Helen Stepp, Bobby T and Carlos Alvarado for going above and beyond the call of duty in their generosity. It's so very appreciated. To everyone else, thanks for reading and for helping out.

Another update tomorrow.

And now here's a dead cat that's been turned into a remote control helicopter.

Pledge Hammer

Well, kids, it dawned on me that it's been more than three months since I've done a pledge drive and since I do them quarterly -- corresponding with the seasons -- I kind of have no choice but to do what should be the spring drive now, when most people are already thinking about summer.

So with that in mind, let's actually dispense with the nomenclature of the past and just call this our big Welcome Summer Pledge Drive. (Yeah, that sounds festive.)

I know it's been a little on-and-off around here lately what with all the work I've had piled on my desk and things finally picking up in my personal life, but this site -- and really most of my online work -- remains a labor of love for me. One I do because I enjoy it and because it seems to make at least a few people mildly amused -- and for the latter I'm very grateful.

Anyway, you know how this works: If you like what you find here at DXM and, more recently, on The Bubble Genius Bob & Chez Show podcast and at the Daily Banter -- if you find my scathing wit, not-very-penetrating insight, pathetic attempts at comedy, musical picks and general juvenile behavior entertaining -- then by all means feel free to throw some money toward keeping these proceedings humming along.

There are three ways you can put your hard-earned cash toward the DXM media empire and its humble proprietor. Remember, it's a full length book -- 300-some-odd pages that you'll be blazing through -- and it can be yours for whatever you feel like putting toward it.

As always I want to thank everyone who continues to read this little experiment of mine. We've been humming along for just a little over six years now and, amazingly, I still haven't been sued or physically assaulted for anything that's appeared here. I promise to do better in the coming months. It shouldn't be hard given that we're now moving into the truly psychotic phase of the 2012 presidential race.

I'll keep this drive to a mere four days as a service to the community.

More updates to come.

(Incidentally, this is my 7,000th post on DXM)
